Microdermabrasion is a gentle, minimally invasive exfoliation technique that targets sun damage, wrinkles, scars, and uneven pigmentation. Beyond enhancing your skin’s appearance, this treatment also boosts circulation and lymphatic flow. Results are noticeable right after the session, and there’s no downtime—you can get back to your day immediately. Performed here at Changes Day & Medical Spa in Aiken, SC, microdermabrasion requires no anesthesia and can be safely combined with other treatments like chemical peels or laser therapy.
Request an AppointmentMicrodermabrasion is much less invasive than dermabrasion, which removes deeper skin layers and is considered a surgical procedure for more severe skin concerns.
At Changes Day & Medical Spa, our Microdermabrasion Facial with a diamond tip costs $140 per session, or you can save with a package of three treatments for $350.
The Microdermabrasion Procedure
During your session, a skilled aesthetician uses a diamond-tipped handheld device to gently exfoliate the targeted skin area. Dead skin cells are then vacuumed away, revealing fresh, glowing skin underneath. Treatments typically last between five and 60 minutes depending on your needs. While one session offers temporary improvement, we recommend repeating treatments every 2 to 4 weeks for lasting results.
Risks Of Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is safe across all skin types, including Asian and darker skin tones, which can sometimes be prone to discoloration with other procedures. Most patients experience only mild redness or irritation. Those over 70 might have a slightly higher chance of bruising or abrasions. It’s important to avoid sun exposure after treatment to protect your newly exposed skin.
If you have a history of cold sores, microdermabrasion may trigger an outbreak. We advise steering clear of the lip area during treatment or taking antiviral medication beforehand if needed.
